Brigitte Reinert and Georg Bohnow have run Radio Regentrude out of Norderstedt since 2010 and pay for it themselves: no sponsors, no income, the licence fees and server rent covered privately, with GEMA, GVL and the Hamburg media authority all filed accordingly. Almost everyone on the team holds a day job, a good number of them on hospital shift rotas, so there is no quota of shows to hit. Hosts broadcast when their own week allows, take a break when it does not, and slide onto a colleague's slot to keep someone on air.

Over forty formats sit on the grid, each one its host's own: Dino Lady Urmeline works the blues from Delta to Swamp in Blues Notes, Willy Wuff keeps Dunkel ist die Nacht for gothic rock and metal, Jürgen Bruch gives an hour to choral and vocal ensembles in Im Takt. Most of what airs arrived unsolicited, posted in by labels, agencies and artists abroad.
