Fuzz guitar, flute, and basslines with a mod haircut.
The In-Sound went up in 2023, alongside Tiki Time and Bossa Beyond, and it runs almost entirely on reissues. The records behind it — German beat singles, Italian film cues, library discs pressed for television and never sold to anyone — mostly flopped or never reached a shop at all, and survive because compilers went back for them decades later. What the channel adds is treating them as a radio station rather than a curiosity, in rotation instead of a themed hour on somebody's schedule.
Much of it comes from The In-Kraut, a series collecting German pop and beat obscurities: Hildegard Knef, Freddy Brock, Joy & The Hit Kids, and the pre-Can group Inner Space. Around them sit Alan Hawkshaw's library grooves, Gianni Ferrio's giallo score, easy listening from James Last and Nelson Riddle, and American psychedelia from David Axelrod and Hal Blaine.
A go-go party in a time machine.
