Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Ambient, dub and easy listening from a Madrid studio.
Radio Relativa started in Madrid in 2018 as a non-profit association with a deliberately awkward remit: amplify the non-commercial, back the people working at the margins, and treat culture as something shared rather than consumed. It puts roughly two hundred and fifty creators on air a year, broadcasts live every day from its own studio, and keeps satellites running in Amsterdam and London. Guests are recorded playing live in the room, and the same crew stages events well away from the airwaves.
The result refuses a house sound. Across more than three hundred shows a year, the tags its hosts choose run to well over a hundred different things, ambient, electronic and experimental most of all, then dub, jazz, folk and pop. Interviews and story-telling hours sit between the music, alongside named shows such as Alla Arriba Un Cielo Azul, Gran Verano and Figado Con Sebola.
Everyone gets an hour.
