Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Eighty volunteers, ninety shows, one campus signal.
Licensed in 1992 and run from the university campus at Pessac, it puts 88.1 across the Gironde with eighty-odd volunteers — students, people with day jobs, retirees — filling some ninety different slots a week, and it has never carried an advertising break. The same staff run radio workshops inside both Bordeaux universities, in local secondary schools and for the city's children's council; the sound pieces students make there go out on air during the student festivals each April.
Mornings belong to chroniques and magazines; come the evening the grid is handed over to music, an hour at a time. 33 Tours works through vinyl, C'est Si Sample follows a sample to its source, No Future takes the punk, Semillas Latinas and Luso-Fónix the Latin and lusophone end, Au Pays Des Raves and Electrønik the techno. Live Campus closes each night.
Students, and everyone else.
