Mooment...
Die Nadel wird entstaubt…
Graveyard synths, goth guitars, rusted drum machines.
Doomed went up in 2006 alongside Space Station Soma and Illinois Street Lounge, three channels and three unrelated moods from a station that had spent six years proving nobody had to pick one. This was the dark end of the library: industrial and dark ambient with a horror-score streak running through it, the sort of programming commercial radio picks up for two weeks in October and drops again. Doomed has been held to the same standard as the daylight channels ever since, and it runs all year.
The rotation reaches back to Coil's Tainted Love and Fields of the Nephilim, keeps Attrition and Calva Y Nada in the EBM lane, and drops Jerry Goldsmith's cues from The Omen and Verne Langdon's Music For Zombies in between them. Steve Roach handles the long ambient stretches, and self-released noise from names like NoiseTheorem and Sjellos fills the gaps.
The dread is the amenity.
